FAQ

Can you prescribe medication?

No, only a psychiatrist, psychiatric nurse practitioner, or medical doctor can prescribe psychiatric medication. As a psychologist my expertise lies in understanding human behavior and emotions and I work with my clients to address psychological issues through talk therapy and learning skills to cope. While I do not prescribe medication, I am glad to work collaboratively with medication prescribers.

Do you offer free consultations before starting therapy?

Yes. It is important to me for you to feel comfortable and that we are a good match. I offer free 15-minute consultations, either in-person or phone, for you to ask me questions about therapy and for me to get an understanding of what you are looking for.

Do you accept insurance?

I accept the following insurance carriers:

  • Anthem Blue Cross of California

  • Aetna

  • Optum

  • United Healthcare

  • Sutter HealthPlus

  • SutterSelect

  • Cigna and Evernorth

  • MHN

I can also provide you an invoice if your insurance covers out-of-network providers. You will need to check with your insurance company to see if this is the case.

How do I pay for therapy appointments?

Payment is due at the time of your appointment.  I accept cash, check, or credit card.
